Supports HRV’s growth initiative in high-value protective coatings training services

SSPC C3/C5 TrainingHRV Conformance Verification Associates, Inc. (HRV), leaders in quality assurance and quality control inspection, construction management and construction inspection (CM/CI), announced that it has finalized a license agreement with The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) to deliver periodic training.  The agreement grants HRV a nonexclusive license to deliver SSPC’s C3 (Supervisor/Competent Person Training for Deleading/Hazardous Coatings Removal on Industrial and Marine Structures), and C5 (Supervisor/Competent Person Training Refresher Course for Deleading/Hazardous Coatings Removal on Industrial and Marine Structures) training courses for three years, and is renewable year-to-year thereafter.

HRV President H. Rochelle Stachel said, “Securing this license agreement to deliver SSPC C3 and C5 training is a crucial component of HRV’s strategy to grow its consulting and training business segment—it represents a major step toward formally establishing our Training Group.  After cultivating a longstanding professional relationship with SSPC and strategically hiring coatings expertise, we are actively pursuing training opportunities across the broad markets we serve.  We are confident that offering this much-needed training will further position HRV as a leader in the coatings inspection industry.”

HRV Coatings Operations Manager Jared Rigo added, “As primary point of contact under our license agreement with SSPC, and as HRV’s C3/C5 instructor, I look forward to engaging course attendees from the transportation, water/wastewater, Federal agency, Department of Defense, and ship-building communities.  Deleading/hazardous coatings removal issues are prevalent in all of these markets—HRV possesses the expertise, credentials and talent to deliver effective training designed to assist in mitigating these issues, based on SSPC guidelines.”

In addition to the SSPC C3/C5 training, HRV’s multi-phase training market initiative centers on offering unsponsored/supportive training including coatings inspection “101,” respiratory protection, coatings inspection instrument use, shop vs. field inspections, and metallizing/galvanizing training supplements.  Additionally, HRV is pursuing coatings inspection conference and workshop opportunities, enhancing its online training presence, and developing an educational newsletter focused on both coatings training and broader coatings inspection topics.
