Miguel Diaz, a professional engineer based in Florida, recently joined HRV’s Steel Division as quality manager. With over 10 years of experience on transportation and infrastructure projects for both the public and the private sector, his background includes providing professional engineering, construction materials inspection, and QA/QC during the fabrication and construction of bridge and roadway projects. Miguel’s expertise also includes the review and interpretation of transportation and infrastructure plans, as well as construction inspection on transportation projects. He is highly knowledgeable of many state departments of transportation specifications including ACI, PCI, AREMA, and AASHTO, as well as the AWS D1.1, D1.2 and D1.5 codes. Miguel is a licensed professional engineer in Florida, Texas, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Certification in Project Management from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, and his Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida-Gainesville.
Miguel’s professional affiliations include the American Welding Society (AWS), College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), the Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP), the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Miguel earned the honor of Eagle Scout earlier in his life, remaining involved with the Scouts until starting college, where he competed on the weightlifting team. He is dedicated to his family, staying in touch with his extended family and caring for them. Miguel loves spending time with his wife and children cooking, exercising, biking, swimming, and running together.
